LEVEL 2 AWARD FOR DOOR SUPERVISOR WITHIN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY (TOP-UP)
Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) has been accredited by the regulators of England, Wales and Northern Ireland (Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The qualification is also supported by both the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and Skills for Security (SfS).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualification requirements.
You will need a First Aid certificate that must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. If you do not have this, please see our courses for First Aid.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?
The content of the course will be delivered over 3 units.
Unit 1: Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
Upon completion of unit 1 the learner will:
Unit 2: Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
Upon completion of unit 2 the learner will:
Unit 3: Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
Upon completion of unit 3 the learner will:
- Understand physical interventions and the implications of their use.
- Understand the risks associated with using physical intervention.
- Understand how to reduce the risks associated with physical intervention.
- Be able to use physical skills to protect yourself and others.
- Be able to use non-pain compliant standing, holding and escorting techniques.

ASSESSMENT
This qualification is assessed via two methods:
1. Practical demonstration
; and
2. Multiple-choice question papers
This qualification will be internally quality assured by the Centre.
