This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work as a steward in the Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being sector. This may include events such as sports, music festivals, concerts, parades or carnivals. It covers how to prepare for events, control entry and exit of customers, identify and deal with crowd problems and respond to emergencies.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?

The qualification consists of 4 mandatory units. Learners must successfully achieve:

  • How stewards prepare for spectator events
  • How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events
  • How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events
  • How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning

ASSESSMENT

The qualification is assessed through open response learner workbook. This method of assessment is an   ongoing   assessment   of   learner knowledge   throughout   the   duration   of   the   course.   This assessment  model  requires  learners  to  provide  a  short  response  to  prescribed  questions  within  a workbook set by Titan.

CERTIFICATION

This Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events has been accredited by  the  regulators  of  England and  Wales (Ofqual and  the Welsh  Government)  and  is  part  of  the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It  is  supported  by  SkillsActive; the  Sector skills  Council  for  the  sport, active  leisure and  well-being sector.
